Carling Islington Academy 01/02/05

Went to the Instore Signing Session at HMV Oxford Street in London, and got my copies of Pushing The Senses signed by the guys. Never been to a big signing like this before but thought it was well organised and got to meet the guys after about an hour or so of queuing. Didn't really get to say anything much apart from the normal pleasantries but shook their hands. Thought they were cool and appreciated them thanking me and I'll assume everyone else there for waiting to see them, respect.
Then onto the gig, well there is nothing like a free gig, yes won two tickets via the Feeder website and was thus on the bands guest list, which gave me the excuse to also go to the signing. Never been to this venue before, holds about 800. Managed to get reasonably near the front on the left hand wall facing the stage. Had to wait quiet a while for the guys to appear as there was no support, and the back ground music being played while I waited sucked, sorry Iain. Feeder hit the stage at about 21:15, slightly late but never mind, and opened with Feeling A Moment, Grant said it was good to play live again and hear the Feeder chant after being away for a while. Thought the new stuff came across very well live, maybe even better than on the album, but must admit I prefer the more up beat rockier tunes. Shatter was also chanted and Grant asked why that wasn't on the album, he said "maybe a single release.." but I doubt it..!, the set was ended by the usual favourites. A totally enjoyable day and big respect to the guys for all the time they gave to the fans.
